Today we have Sharita
Lira at the cyber bar. Sharita is in one word, crazy. Just crazy enough to have
3 4 different muses running around in her head, driving her to sheer
exhaustion with new plot bunnies and complex characters. In addition to being a
computer geek and a metalhead, Sharita loves live music, reading, and perusing
the net for sexy men to be her muses.
She’s also a founding member and contributor to the heavy metalezine Fourteeng.net.
What we are Drinking
Sharita L: Jack and Coke. Very Simple! ;)
Deanna: First things first. Where
are you and what are you wearing?
Sharita: (((Drinks Jack and Coke))) In my kitchen
and wearing a brown sundress. Nothing overly sexy, but comfortable since it’
hot. (((laughs)))
Deanna: What’s your poison? Vodka? Gin? Beer?
Sharita: (((Pours some more Jack Daniels in Glass)))
Jack Daniels is my favorite poison, although I do love some Tequila from time
to time.
Deanna: (((pours them both a round))) Cheers! Now
that we’re comfy, tell me about your new book? (((sips on her cocktail)))
Sharita: (((sips and pours more Jack in))) Ah, now that’s better. My latest book is called
Something About Jayden. It’s a love story under my sensual pseudonym Rawiya
about two men; one older, Isaac Bridges who is closeted and married and the
other, a young Hispanic male intern named Jayden DeMario looking to succeed at
the company Isaac runs. The two meet and the sparks are evident but Isaac is
married, which presents problem one. Problem two? Jayden doesn’t want a
relationship on the job.
Deanna: Where did the idea for SOMETHING ABOUT JAYDEN come from?
Sharita: (((takes another sip))) I actually thought
of the idea when I was at work. I love May/December romances and there really
aren’t that many stories out there featuring gay main characters of Black and/or
Latino descent. More Diversity is needed in all romances. Okay, sorry,
off my soapbox.
Deanna: What was the hardest part of writing this
story for you?
Sharita: (((finishing the drink and covers mouth)))
Excuse me! Um, I believe the ending, which I always struggle with. I was
anxious about ending it too soon. They only had sex once and I think I did a
good job with it, but I worried if I needed more action and or sex. After the
betas went over it, they all said they went through enough. They’re truly
loveable characters. I hated to see their story end.
Deanna: (((pours them another round))) Boy, these
things are tasty!! Now, what’s the easiest thing about writing your book?
Sharita: (((gulps immediately)) Um, I’d say the
conversation. With Jayyyy… oops (((slurs words))) Jayden it seemed to come real
natural. (((fans self))) Um, is it getting hot in here, Deanna?
Deanna: Uh no. So, are you a plotter or a panster?
(((Blinks)))
Sharita: (((still fanning and wipes sweat off
brow))) I’m a mixture of… all 3… oops (((holds up fingers))) Two. I like to
plot and pan. (((giggles)))
Deanna: How long have you been writing?
Sharita: (((laughs out loud))) Not long enough
apparently. I really need to slow down on these drinks. That last one hit me
hard! (((still laughing like a hyena)))
Deanna: (((clears throat))) Um Sharita, do you ever
have writers block? On those occasions that I do, I usually have a cocktail …
or three…LOL But that’s just me.
Sharita: Nope, not really. (((hiccups and giggles)))
Deanna: Most of my stories have a theme song, do you
do that for your characters?? If so what is it?
Sharita: That would be an old R&B some, What You
Won’t Do For Love. That really isn’t my type of music, but
this song spoke to…spoke to… um… me and
my characters.
Deanna: Tell us about a scene that you have written
then afterwards, when you read it, you shocked yourself? You know I want a
dirty answer (((hint hint)))
Sharita: (((Straightens in chair))) I’d have to say
the stripper scene I wrote under my Michael Mandrake name for I Like Em Pretty.
I think I rocked that scene and showed how beautiful Kajika really is. I
captured his dance… the man is just hot. And for this book, the sex scene was
beautiful. They only have one and I was floored. I’ll give you a piece down
below. And thanks for having me tod…today. (((Covers mouth and giggles))) Let’s
have another now that the interview is over!
SOMETHING ABOUT JAYDEN
Isaac Bridges has it all: wealth and success. Yet and still,
there are two things he desires more than anything. Denton & Associates
back under his family’s name and a male lover he can call his own.
Jayden Demario, a handsome college student from a tough neighborhood is looking to make his career in advertising. His “madre” encourages him to take time out and find love but he wishes to follow his career path first and foremost.
Both men are missing a significant other in their lives, will stupid pride and hurtful secrets stand in the way of what could be a perfect union?

Both men are missing a significant other in their lives, will stupid pride and hurtful secrets stand in the way of what could be a perfect union?
Excerpt:
Excited and jumpy about what was to come, Jayden
completely ignored the décor of Isaac’s condo and instead concentrated on their
heated embrace. With each kiss, Jayden’s heart fluttered and his stomach was in
knots over what was to happen.
When
they reached the top, Isaac carried him into the large bedroom with the
four-poster bed, dropping him lightly onto the mattress. With a wild look in
his eyes, he hovered over Jayden, rubbing his covered erection against Jayden’s
inner thigh.
Oh God.
Jayden
licked his lips, never breaking the gaze between him and Isaac. He ogled
Isaac’s caramel body, loving how firm and perfectly built he was in all the
right places. Perfect pecs, the lines and valleys that led to his rock hard
abs, the man was a living Greek god, and Jayden couldn’t help but be impressed.
He toyed with Isaac’s boxers, tracing the seam, desperately wanting to see what
was underneath the black fabric. “Are you going to take these off for me?”
Jayden knew he would but wanted to see it sooner rather than later.
“Yes,
but I wanted to stare at this lovely body I’ve dreamed about for months. I want
to study it…” Isaac dragged his long finger from the tip of Jayden’s chin down
his neck and onto his collarbone. “I want to know every part…” Isaac leaned
down and placed a light peck on Jayden’s Adam’s apple. “Every nook…” Isaac
trailed down to the center of Jayden’s chest with his nose while his finger
pinched Jayden’s nipple.
“Ugnnhh…”
Jayden winced, and his cock sprung a leak. Damn he wanted this man so bad, but
Isaac seemed totally content with playing this way. “Isaac, please…”
“Every
crevice…” Isaac continued to move down with his nose and lips to the space in
between Jayden’s navel and waist. His tongue fiddled with the gold ring while
he gently dragged his fingertips against Jayden’s skin.
“Ooh,
Isaac… Oh God… Please…” Jayden clawed the covers and squirmed underneath his
touches. “You’re gonna make me suffer for making you wait, right? Oh God,
please don’t, I can’t…”
“No
suffering… I told you, just exploring. I want to make you completely
comfortable.” Isaac circled his belly button with his tongue and dropped lower
until he got to Jayden’s waistband. Isaac didn’t bother removing Jayden’s
boxers, instead, he dipped some more, nuzzling a space on the side of his
erection. He licked it through the fabric, suckled and nibbled on that spot
while running his fingers over Jayden’s nut sack.
“Fuuu….Oh
God, Isaac… Please…” Jayden gnashed his teeth, and his eyes rolled up into his
head. His whole brain turned to mush from what Isaac was doing to him. “Damn,
Isaac…you’re gonna make me come, I swear… Oh God. I’m not gonna last.”
